With the start of a new year comes lists as long as our arms of things we'd like to achieve and resolutions. I'm not one to make New Year's resolutions, by doing so I feel I'm only setting myself up for disappointment. I do however look to the new year with new dreams and new goals, both in my stitching, family and spiritual life.

As I look at these empty spools I see that my stitching has brought a lot of joy, a desire that I hope will continue this year.
At long last I've finally finished the piecing of the Love quilt and have it all pinned out and ready to quilt. Then comes the pattern writing. I'm sure many of you thought I must have given up on this one.....

Half way through putting the rows together of a star quilt. Using
Amandajean's layout, with a few changes to the blocks used.

A Christmas quilt that I stared in the middle of last year, but never got around to finishing. The last of the applique stitches went into this one last night, so now all that's left is a final border and pin it out ready to quilt. Hopefully this month will bring a few finishes.

Speaking of finishes
May Britt and
Kris have spurred me on with their challenge to finish up some of these languishing ufo's.
Of course there will be new projects started, like the lovely new BOM that
Anne from Bunny Hills has offered.
With the rush from this past Christmas gift making, I've decided that my Christmas stitching will just continue throughout the year until I have it all completed. No more rushing like a mad woman to meet a postal deadline.
Nanette has a wonderful post about Christmas stitching. You can find it
here.
This month is an extremely important month in our house. Without going into all the boring details that have spanned the last almost 5 years, on the 22nd of January the Immigration department will decide whether I will be permitted permanent residency in the US, or whether I need to return to Australia. Please keep this in your prayers. I'm trusting God for a positive outcome.
Happy Stitching.
