Two days after surgery and I'm home in the comfort of my own surroundings. They tell me the surgery went very well. Replaced the knee and turned the bone so it would be straight. I now have approx 20 metal staples running down the front of my leg.
They had me up on Saturday walking and today before I came home they removed the bulky dressing and replaced it with gauze strips, and the wonderful fashion statement of white support hose.
Thank you for your kinds words of encouragement and prayers.
Now I have the long hard stretch ahead of me with physical therapy, but it won't be too long and the pain and hard work will just be a distant memory.

Take care Linda! I am praying for your recovery. My hubby had about the same thing done when he was a youngster (12 or 13). No knee replacement. They just turned the bone. He had polio as a child. Hope you soon feel like working on some of your projects that you have lined up for your recovery time.

Ouch, I'm hoping your recovery goes by fast. I just had back surgery last week, we can compare physical therapy notes soon!

The worst is behind you!! I have had both of mine replaced and I am so glad I did. Now, if it weren't for the scars and setting of the metal detectors, I would not know they were not the original knees!
Therapy is a MUST!!! Even if it is a little uncomfortable, stick with
it.

Yay Linda!!! They sure get you up fast anymore, don't they? But you heal so much quicker if they do. Just keep up with the therapy, your knee will thank you...and you'll be good as new before you know it! I know it's hard and I'll be praying for you!

Glad to see that it went well soon you wont know yourself ...I have bursitis in both my sholders been there a couple of years I am having treatment at the moment but have told the doctor that they can remove it no problem!!!
Thanks for your lovely comment the Gail Pan is a BOM called berries & bluebirds but I actually got all the patterns in an online auction run on FB for the flood appeal so I was very lucky to get them before their release !! Love Gails work am going to a weekend workshop with her on Oct 29th can't wait.

Had mine done 11 years ago and have never regretted it. I just hated that I was only 54 and they don't last forever. I fear walking on ice but have had hardly any pain.
